    Pros +

    • The rooms
    • Loved that our room faced the east so we were able to experience the beautiful sunrise. We also didn't have to go far to see the beautiful marine life of Palawan, it was just at the beach! We can easily go around the property either by the use of the bikes or calling for a buggy. The food at the Island cafe was also pretty good and offered fresh seafoods!
    • The place itself is like a paradise with lots of things to do— either you kayak or snorkel or just chill at the beach or pool and enjoy the view. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. One thing to note I think: Would be really great if front desk would be more prompt and quick when dealing with concerns. Overall, we love our stay and we hope to come back again in the future with our kiddos ???

    Cons -

    • Food was not tasty.
    • The rooms were quite old and looked neglected though quite spacious. The rooms are in need of an uplift. The inclusive breakfast in the room rate was not exciting because of the lack of variety. There was also some lack of communication between the front desk and the other departments like spa and the sport center. I had to go to the different departments to make sure that our booking was done since I didn't get any updates from the front desk.
    • Pretty much everything. The resort has aged badly and the photos online are not an accurate representation any longer. We stayed in one of the water villas (not the new ones) and it was very basic and in quite an appalling condition. Decor was old and dated, things were broken, bed was like a slab of marble, building next door in a state of disrepair and boarded up. The resort was sprawling and generally very strange and neglected. 4 or 5 restaurants, all but 1 closed, hardly any people. Attention to detail does not apply here. We booked for 5 nights, and left after just 1. We were offered an upgrade to a honeymoon villa (newer) but we declined and left. Best decision we made.

Love the amenities including the breakfast and the staff. Though was disappointed with the food not a lot of food choices and not fully satisfied even with the filipino food seems like not authentic. I was expecting a lot knowing the amount of money we are paying.

The airport pick up and boat ride to the resort was lovely....The staff, in fairness, were very nice and couldn´t be faulted. (We felt sorry for them).

The island is beautiful but that’s really the only thing that was beautiful about this trip.

    - The service is terrible everywhere on the island (except at the Mangrove restaurant)- Value for money is really bad, it’s way too expensive for what they offer - Breakfast was so basic and didn’t even offer Propper coffee, although a good coffee machine was right beside the horrible instant coffee they served- there was no chicken available at any of the restaurants- the wine selection is terrible- the diving is double the price of any other diving we have done around the world - after the stay they aren’t even able to price us with an invoice - there was a construction sight ongoing and while we were trying to relax and unwind by the pool, the noise was terrible and anything but relaxing

Location, great reef, good snorkelling, lovely pool. Korean bbq excellent.

Building work going on, arrived and planned to dive & told diving instructor was nt available. Fishing was nt available-fishing rods broken. Broken lights and wobbly taps in pool rooms. Everything not finished. Complained about diving not available & ignored. Unanswered emails before arrival. Very poor customer service.

Nice staff, though a little bit too relaxed concerning pick-up by buggy for example

I can't go directly into the water from my villa.... V79, only possible at the beach...4 min.walk Kayaking only in designated (small!!) area.. more for young childrenConstruction work on the hill behind the villas, also during evening time.... drilling sounds and lorries hauling...Breakfast not what I expected... sticky tables, small variety of fruits and everything not well on display... could be a improved a lotIt's too expensive for what I paid

Views from the villa Location ideal for boat excursionsStaff super friendly and helpful

Hotel for mass tourism. No charm. Very poorly maintained. Concrete everywhere. The villas are glued to each other. Nothing is ecological. On the contrary, everything is done to attract the maximum number of people, without any consideration for nature

Staff was very friendly and accomodating. They accepted our request for an earlier boat ride back to the hotel for our flight.

TV was still outdated smart TV, no netflix.

Amazing location, just stunning beauty. Set on its own island, the resort is a perfect place to relax and take advantage of the surrounding nature by going on day trip, diving trips or just chill on the beautiful beach. The resort has an amazing coral reef just metres from the white sandy beach.

Not much. Perhaps try to keep it and don’t do too much new stuff such as shooting ranges.

    2MarcoPosted on: 1-6-2025

**Positive Note**: The staff was friendly, and the marine life near the hotel was beautiful, making it great for snorkeling.**Suggestion**: I believe the hotel needs a new manager as it seems to be poorly managed.Overall, while there were some positive aspects, the negatives outweighed them. I hope the management takes these points into consideration for future improvements.

    1. **Room**: The room was spacious but unfortunately quite old and worn out. The sheets were not changed during my stay, which was disappointing.2. **Internet and TV**: The internet connection was terrible, and the smart TV was just as bad.3. **Food**: The only good food was at the Mangrove restaurant, but it always arrived cold. The other restaurants and breakfast were mediocre at best, and many items on the menu were often unavailable.4. **Diving and Excursions**: These were very expensive. In my case, they were extremely costly because my companion canceled, and I had to pay almost 14,000 pesos for two dives, which was not my fault.

Transportation between the airport and the resort was very good and helpful. We really enjoyed the see-through floor on the veranda.

The food at the Stake House was not very good.

Sunlight Ecotourism Resort offers a truly immersive experience in nature while prioritizing sustainability. The resort is beautifully situated, providing stunning views and a tranquil atmosphere that allows guests to unwind and connect with the environment. The accommodations are comfortable and eco-friendly, showcasing the perfect blend of luxury and nature.

Wait time for Food when you order at the Pool Bar but it has to be transported from the restaurant hence the wait.

    Beautiful location

Acted like they didn’t have our reservationRooms we were allocated weren’t made upHad to wait another hour for our roomMy husband had to say this is bad service and we should have our drinks that we ordered while we waited paid for - which they eventually didCommunication between booking.com and resort not good as I booked one room as stated by booking .com but ended up with a duplex Villa = 2 rooms. So basically paid for two rooms which was not required!!In one duplex there was no hot waterPhones didn’t work all the time to communicate with reception and this is needed to get the buggies around the island as everything is a bit of a walk Fridges weren’t restocked each dayMenus did not up hold what they advertised. This include the QR code. Wine bar menu. Dive shop acted like we were idiots and couldn’t be taken on advanced dives even though we are qualifiedRestaurant and this is just one evening - there were three tables, total 8 people. Approx 10 staff just milling around. Had to go up to them to place orders. They walked past tables with dirty dishes and didn’t clear. Didn’t try and upsell. We were going to order dessert but not one staff member gave our table eye contact. We would have had to go up to them all standing around not doing anything to order. Told a staff member our feelings and she didn’t blink an eye. Saw her talking to another staff member, both of them looking at us and laughing. The resort is actively building so seems prosperous but its service and lack of product lets it down immensely. Staff are disinterested and under trained.

    Welcoming staff and concierge.

They failed to arrange our spa reservation, slow respond on breakfast menu, TV was not working. Do not expecting too much on this pricy resort.

    9SherylPosted on: 1-15-2024

The staff was helpful made it easy to travel with a 5 year old, who enjoyed everything.Food was good. Prices for one of the restaurant which served filipino dishes was decent with big servings. We also did one day tour which was Tour A,l.Our tour guide was amazing and so good travelling with kid, you both can experience without worrying.

I wished there was bikes for toddlers so my little one could come along. I'm guessing for safety issue. But it would have been good.
